Bill Reddin’s – 3D Model –

The – 3D Model – is a situational leadership model which, as such, is based on behaviour. It is a model that describes the behaviour that a manager must follow in order to achieve his job, which is to be effective. The model is essentially based on the fact that the use of the appropriate behaviours can be learned. That is, that managers are not born with such skills. In fact, that is the reason why managers can be “trained in leadership.”

The Reddin Method

Output orientation is required to translate the strategy into operational, realistic and challenging objectives. Top-down priorities and bottom-up participation result in a “motivating and unambiguous contract” between executives and employees. This way, they can make decisions independently, the motivation grows and better results are achieved in all areas. Application of the Reddin method boosts self-confidence in the management tasks and brings structure “in areas within which I have amateured” as a production manager once put it.
